(Camels)

Camels are special animals that live in hot and dry places like deserts. They have big humps on their backs, but these humps don't hold water; they store fat. This fat helps camels stay energized and hydrated when there's not much food or water around.

Camels have long legs and tough feet that stop them from sinking in the hot sand. They're great at saving water too. They can go without drinking for a long time, and when they do drink, they can gulp down a lot at once. People in desert areas use camels for many things like carrying heavy stuff and getting milk and meat. These amazing animals are not just helpful; they're also important in the stories and traditions of desert places.

(Carnivorous Plants)

Insect-eating plants, also known as carnivorous plants, are plants that capture and eat insects and other small creatures to get nutrients. Examples include the Venus Flytrap, which snaps shut on insects, and Pitcher Plants, which have liquid-filled pitchers that trap and digest prey.

These plants live in places where the soil doesn't have many nutrients. By catching and eating insects, they make up for what's missing in the ground. They're like nature's little bug-catchers and help keep the ecosystem in balance. Carnivorous plants are a cool example of how plants can adapt in surprising ways to survive in tough conditions.
Here are some examples of carnivorous plants:
One-Venus Flytrap
Two-Pitcher Plant
Three-Sundew
Four-Butterwort
Five-Bladderwort

(The Four Basic Mathematical Operations)

The four basic mathematical operations are fundamental tools for performing calculations and solving mathematical problems. Addition, denoted by the plus symbol (+), allows us to find the sum of two or more numbers, combining them into a single value. Subtraction, indicated by the minus symbol (-), is used to determine the difference between two numbers, showing how much one is less than the other. Multiplication, represented by the multiplication symbol (× or *), involves repeated addition and helps us find the product of two or more numbers. Finally, division, often denoted by the division symbol (÷ or /), allows us to split a quantity into equal parts or determine how many times one number fits into another.

(The Role of Music in Life)

Today, we are rushing through life and everyone seems to be pressurised and stressed about one or the other thing. Stress has become an inescapable part of our lives. Many of our illnesses are a result of stress, and to deal with it, we need certain ways to relax our body and mind. Listening to music, particularly gentle, calming and melodious music, relaxes people both physically and mentally. Music releases endorphins, the natural painkillers in our brain, which relieve us from the sense of pain. Music can normalise heart rate and blood pressure. The common occurrences of fatigue and boredom decrease when we listen to music. It diverts our attention from everyday anxieties, thereby reducing the stress caused by such concerns.

The Dog and the Bone - a moral story

A hungry dog while searching about food found a bone. He picked it out and held it tightly in his mouth and ran out into the woods, to a safe place to enjoy it in ease. He growled and frowned at anyone who attempted to take it over. He chewed the bone for a very long time and this made him quite thirsty. He came to a stream to quench his thirst. He trotted around the footbridge and happened to glance into the water. He saw his own reflection in the water. Thinking it was another dog with a bigger bone, he growled and scowled towards it. The reflection growled and scowled back.

Being greedy by nature, he wanted that bone too. He snapped his sharp teeth at the image on the water. He barked at the other dog, hoping to scare him into giving that bone. His own big bone fell with a splash, went over of sight, the moment he opened his mouth to bite!

(6th class The Quarrel _ poem)

I quarrelled with my brother
I don’t know what about,
One thing led to another
And somehow we fell out.
The start of it was slight,
The end of it was strong,
He said he was right,
I knew he was wrong!

We hated one another.
The afternoon turned black.
Then suddenly my brother
Thumped me on the back,
And said, “Oh, come along!
We can’t go on all night —
I was in the wrong.”
So he was in the right.

(6th class Taro's Reward_2)

Taro saw a beautiful little waterfall hidden behind a rock. Kneeling at a place where the water flowed quietly, he cupped a little in his hands and put it to his lips. Was it water? Or was it saké? He tasted it again and again, and always it was the delicious saké instead of cold water.

Taro quickly filled the pitcher he had with him and hurried home. The old man was delighted with the saké. After only one swallow of the liquid, he stopped shivering and did a little dance in the middle of the floor.

That afternoon, a neighbour stopped by for a visit. Taro’s father politely offered her a cup of the saké. The lady drank it greedily and thanked the old man.

(6th class Taro's Reward_1)

A YOUNG woodcutter named Taro lived with his mother and father on a lonely hillside. All day long he chopped wood in the forest. Though he worked very hard, he earned very little money. This made him sad, for he was a thoughtful son and wanted to give his old parents everything they needed.

One evening, when Taro and his parents were sitting in a corner of their hut, a strong wind began to blow. It whistled through the cracks of the hut and everyone felt very cold. Suddenly Taro’s father said, “I wish I had a cup of saké; it would warm me and do my old heart good.”

This made Taro sadder than ever, for the heart-warming drink called saké was very expensive.
